Salt War
Period: 672–673 TR
A commercial dispute with the Thardic League gave King Torastra the excuse to declare war. He marched west with indecent haste into an ambush laid by Autarch Aglir, known as the Battle of Chelna Gap (672).
Torastra returned to Tashal and contemplated the “dishonorable” style of warfare his opponent had exhibited. In 673, he set out with a larger, better-prepared army and routed the League’s army at the Battle of Ramala Gap. The settlement that followed won Kaldoric merchants valuable trading rights.
