Gardiren’s only toymaker is a skilled craftsman and a kind-hearted man, although slow of speech. He wed the daughter of the town’s madam Anena of Rawyn 20 years ago and they have been happily married since. Their son Lase, 18, stands nearly seven feet tall. Strangers who have mocked Abryn have received painful beatings from his son. The toymaker carves and paints excellent miniature mounted knights, about 12 inches high, that are popular with the young sons of the wealthy.
