Melin of Soral

Role: Innkeeper, The Red Fox; Alderman (Meyvinel); Counterspeaker, Aldermanic Council Sex: Male Social Class: Craftsperson Location: Tashal, Semethshire (Meyvinel, B4)

Melin operates The Red Fox, the city’s most sedate tavern, a pool of calm even during the summer fair. Despite its proximity to the pillory, the clientele are mostly respectable guildsmen, visiting mercantylers, and military officers. Veteran travellers of the Salt Route consider Melin’s excellent mead a fine antidote to the labours of the journey. The inn has six well-appointed rooms and a private meeting chamber upstairs.

Melin administers the Meyvinel district as a city alderman and also acts as the council’s Counterspeaker, the acting dissenting voice for the council. For any issue to be decided by the aldermen, Melin must ensure that all opposing voices are heard. He is responsible for the powerful Meyvinel district.
