Zuke of Sarion

Zuke is a skilled mason who owns his building and two connecting tenements. He lives on the ground floor with his wife Milya, four children, and a younger brother and wife who also have two children. His brother and two sub-tenants are journeymen masons, and several older children of tenants are apprentices. Zuke stores some short lumber in his cellar but also stacks cut stone and long wood beams against the city wall along Mason Way. He employs two mercenaries to guard his valuable building materials.

Zuke’s three buildings are home to 14 families of masons, stoneworkers, and quarrymen. They are not all employed by Zuke, but assist each other to keep everyone fed and clothed. The children, called “pebbles” by adults in the mason trade, are well treated compared to many in the city.
