Cadell of Ithery
nLiege: Earl of Vemion
Junior Clerk, Salters’ Guild, Minarsas
Cadell is a young clerk in the service of Reberth of Harabor, Salters’ Guildmaster at Minarsas. He handles routine sales and paperwork at the guild’s salt warehouse.
Appearance
A thin, neat young man with ink-stained fingers and an earnest expression. He dresses in the plain but clean tunic of a minor guild functionary and carries a wax tablet for notes.
Personality
Sympathetic, conscientious, and nervous. Cadell knows about the informal boycott of Nenda and understands why the villages of Grimruld Hundred are suffering. He would like to help but is anxious about overstepping his authority. When he sells salt to the PCs, he makes them sign a receipt acknowledging the purchase is for “the villages of Grimruld Hundred” rather than for Nenda’s market — a polite fiction that satisfies the letter of the boycott while helping the people who need it.
He is a useful source of information about the salt trade, guild customs, and the circumstances of Vorcan of Arkynn’s death, which he has heard discussed at length by senior guildsmen.
