Many lords foresee civil war over the succession; few garrisons are understrength — most are quietly at full strength. The Royal Guard’s loyalty in any succession crisis will be pivotal.
Sir Koris is one of the king’s acknowledged bastard sons. His personal loyalty to the crown is unquestioned, but his relationship to Maldan Harabor (also the king’s bastard) creates a delicate dynamic. See Kaldoric Succession.
