Overview
Kaldor is the name given to the region of the middle Kald River watershed, lying roughly between the Sorkin Mountains and Felsha Mountains of east central Hârn. The natural vegetation is mostly mixed woodland and forest with large tracts of cropland and pasture. Most of the region is alluvial plains with several hilly districts, notably the Kathela Hills and the Upper Osel River.
Although culturally dominated by the Kingdom of Kaldor, the region is home to several tribal nations who range across the realm’s ambiguous borders. Since its foundation in 188 TR, Kaldor has assimilated large numbers of tribesmen, but many lands claimed by the kings and nobility are actually controlled by the Chelni, Kath, Pagaelin, and Taelda nations.
Borders and Marches
The lands to the south and west are lightly settled and administered as the military districts of Oselmarch and Chelmarch. Kaldor has a token presence at Trobridge Inn, but only because the Chelni allow it to survive. The southern Oselmarch lies within Pagaelin territory. Beyond the Pagaelin lies Chybisa, a kingdom to which Kaldor occasionally asserts a claim.
