Oselmarch Army
Type: Regional standing army / March garrison Base: Kobing Warden: Orsin Firith, Baron of Kobing Deputy Warden: Sir Nethan Daront
The Army of the Oselmarch is the permanent military force of the Oselmarch, the southern march of Kaldor that borders Pagaelin territory. The Warden holds both the barony of Kobing and command of the march. See also Oselmarch.
Structure
Permanent force:
- 1 company of light foot
- 1 company of medium foot
- 2 companies of elite light horse
Summer levy: Feudal levy supplements the permanent force during the campaign season.
Patrols are largely restricted to the Genin Trail and the surrounding territory against Pagaelin, gargun, and brigands. Conflict with the Pagaelin is constant and brutal; Pagaelin habitually torture and mutilate prisoners.
Members
| Name | Role |
|---|---|
| Orsin Firith | Warden; Baron of Kobing |
| Sir Nethan Daront | Deputy Warden; day-to-day operational command |
| Sir Merrick Dagale | Assistant to Deputy Warden; responsible for patrol operations |
Notes
GM Only
Sir Nethan Daront is an ambitious man who chafes at his subordinate position under Baron Orsin. His relationship with Sir Merrick Dagale is politically complex — whether Merrick is loyal subordinate, rival, or obstacle is an open question.
Summer levy troop quality has been declining under Sir Merrick’s administration — the king may send investigators to determine why.
