History of Kaldor

The Codominium

During the Codominium, the Kald River Valley was a center of trade among the elder peoples. Several Khuzan outposts (kygs) existed, most now major settlements. The Khuzan bridge at Naniom Bridge is still in use.

Jarin Settlement (from BT 1150)

The Jarin settled the upper Kald from BT 1150. They fought alongside the elder peoples during the Atani Wars. After the Battle of Sorrows (BT 683), the elves and dwarves withdrew.

Lothrim’s Campaigns (96–120 TR)

See Lothrim. Around 110, Lothrim began his greatest military campaign, seizing Jarin states on the west bank of the Kald, then conquering Olokand and Merila.

The Four Kingdoms (125–188 TR)

See The Four Kingdoms. After Lothrim’s disappearance, four kingdoms emerged: Kingdom of Nurelia (125), Kingdom of Kephria (128), Kingdom of Pagostra (137), and Kingdom of Serelind (142).

Migration Wars (178–238 TR)

See Migration Wars. Decades of poor weather, tribal pressure, and Gargun expansion led to devastating raids on the four kingdoms, ultimately forcing their merger into Kaldor.

Kingdom of Kaldor Founded (188 TR)

Medrik I of Kingdom of Serelind proclaimed the Kingdom of Kaldor after uniting the remnants of the four kingdoms.

See Clan Orgael. Fierth ruled ruthlessly; his son Uthred was assassinated.

The Restoration (406)

See Clan Artane. Barons restored the old royal line; Aidrik III took the throne.

Baronial Revolt (599–603)

See Baronial Revolt. Fifteen claimants waged a confused power struggle after Iemald died without an heir. Haldan I emerged as king, founding the Clan Elendsa.
