Vemion Plain
A distinct lowland basin in eastern Kaldor, forming the settled heartland of Vemionshire. The plain lies at 400–700 feet elevation, sheltered on three sides: the Forests of Lim (Kythlim, Mylelim, Rumerill) to the west and northwest, the Valdrun Downs and Pagos Forest to the south and east, and the Sorkin foothills to the north.
The Vemion Stream and its tributaries drain the basin south and west, watering productive cropland and pasture. The plain enjoys a slightly drier and more continental climate than the Kald Valley, sheltered by the surrounding hills and forests.
Minarsas, seat of the Earl of Vemion, occupies a commanding position where several streams converge. Athelren, the Vemionshire shiremoot seat, lies on the Tishilan Flats in the southern plain.
