Galston of Brey
Role: Caravan master Sex: Male Age: 52 (born 668 TR) Social Class: Merchant (Mercantylers’ Guild) Location: Tashal (home base); frequently on the Genin Trail Personality: Cheerful, talkative, and generous Guild: Mercantylers’ Guild
Galston is a cheerful, broad-shouldered caravan master who runs a regular trade route along the Genin Trail between Tashal and Qualdris. He commands a train of six wagons carrying metalwork, cloth, and salt southward, returning with furs, hides, and livestock.
Background
Born in the village of Brey in northern Semethshire, Galston has been in the caravan trade for thirty years, working his way up from teamster to journeyman to master. He is well known along the Genin Trail and has a reputation for fair dealing, reliable scheduling, and a talent for avoiding trouble. He knows every inn, ford, and camping spot between Tashal and Kobing.
Personality
Galston is talkative, generous with ale, and an incurable gossip. He enjoys the company of strangers and freely shares news and rumours picked up along the road. He is no warrior — he employs four guards for protection — but his long experience on the frontier has given him a practical knowledge of Pagaelin movements, weather patterns, and trail conditions that few can match.
