Sir Gorlas Enaged
Role: Knight Commander, Nenda garrison Sex: Male Social Class: Warrior Age: 30 (born 690) Location: Nenda, Vemionshire Personality: Loyal Liege: Baron of Nenda
Third son of a vassal lord of Nenda and the only person in the keep who can endure Baron Erelar Hirnen for extended periods. Loyal to Clan Hirnen without reservation — would not betray them even if the opportunity arose.
Appearance
A solidly built man of thirty with close-cropped brown hair and a calm, watchful face. He wears his mail comfortably and moves with the unhurried confidence of a professional soldier. His expression is habitually neutral — he has learned never to show surprise, amusement, or alarm in the baron’s presence.
Personality
Sir Gorlas is patient, diplomatic, and quietly competent. He manages the garrison, handles day-to-day administration of the keep, and serves as a buffer between the baron’s volcanic temper and everyone else. He is the man visitors speak to first and often the man they speak to last, because he makes it his business to ensure most disputes never reach the baron’s attention.
He is not a schemer — his loyalty to Clan Hirnen is genuine and absolute, rooted in generations of family service. He serves the baron faithfully despite private misgivings about his lord’s treatment of Lady Yrene Eresar and the consequences of the salt embargo. He will deflect inquiries about the baron’s household with professional courtesy and redirect visitors toward practical solutions rather than confrontation.
His squire, Heber Caldeth (a relative of the Earl of Minarsas), is due for knighthood within the year. Sir Gorlas has trained him well and considers him the most promising young knight in Grimruld Hundred.
